The PRS David Grissom DGT, is the result of more than 20 years of collaboration between Paul Reed Smith and David Grissom. Based on the McCarty model but with a unique DGT neck shape, taller frets, special pickups, and a revised control layout. The DGT humbuckers themselves are the result of a whole year of testing between Grissom and Paul. Like every PRS guitar, the DGT model is designed with meticulous attention to detail, and built with real passion and quality.
Features We Love:
PRS and David Grissom spent a year testing pickups back and forth to settle on the correct specs. Aiming for a refined vintage sound, the pickups that were settled on are truly unique in the PRS line up. With a tight bottom end and smooth top end that still retains enough mid range to push the note out with a present and resonant sound, these pickups provide a balanced and vintage tone.
DGT Neck carve
Based on some of David Grissom’s first PRS guitars the DGT neck carve sits between a regular PRS carve and their Wide Fat shape. This gives the player a comfortably substantial neck that transfers a lot of vibrations throughout the guitar but isn’t thick enough that it becomes a struggle to play. Additionally per David Grissom’s request the fretboard is slightly narrower than most PRS. This means at the highest frets it’s still easy to grasp and play with your thumb over the neck.
Phase III Locking Tuners
The latest iteration of PRS’ locking tuners. The Phase III locking tuners feature the classic top locking design with an with an open gear back. Perfectly rounding out the premium feel and look of the DGT model.
